OUR

MINISTRIES

Matthew 28:18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19  Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NLT)

Real Life Ministries is a ministry with a vision.  We are committed to the Great Commission given by Jesus, to make and train disciples.

Real Life's commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission have led us to create and maintain the following outreach ministries:

REAL TALK RADIO

In May 2021, Real Life MInistries began producing "Real Talk," a weekly radio program playing on multiple radio stations all over Texas.  All of our stations are strategically selected due to their proximity near large prisons or clusters of multiple units.  "Real Talk" is a program specifically designed for inmates, both men and women, and addresses their spiritual needs through teaching the Word of God, interviews and testimonies, and music.  Real Talk programs typically include relevant messages taught in an interesting way.  We also play a diverse mix of contemporary Christian music, including modern worship, Christian hip hop, gospel, country, and hard rock.

Currently, we broadcast "Real Talk" weekly on 22 stations in four states reaching over 100,000 Texas inmates.

In January 2023, we started the "Real Vida Podcast" by converting our weekly radio program into podcasts streaming on all major podcasting services, including Spotify, iHeart Radio, Apple Music, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music and many others.  We have also now been approved by Securus, the company which provides tablets for approximately 1.3 million incarcerated persons in 3,400 correctional facilities in 47 states.  Click the "Podcast" tab above to listen.

REAL LIFE PRISON MINISTRY TEAM

Real Life's Prison Team ministers every week in prisons across Texas, focusing on reaching the prisoners often considered the "toughest to reach." Real Life ministers with anointed preaching and music, and is available for "open chapel" services as well as teaching classes or in "Faith-Based" units.  Our team has shared the Word with our "brothers-in-white" in many units, including: Allred, Beto 1, Billy Moore, Coffield, Hilltop, Hughes, Mountain View, Polunsky (including Death Row), Robertson, Telford, Wainwright, and Wynne. Real Life receives (and responds to) more than 5,000 letters from inmates each year.  Real Life produces a quarterly newsletter entitled "Real Talk," which contains challenging messages, interviews, and testimonies designed to help new believers in their Christian walk.   Though it would be impossible to respond to every letter, our team corresponds with many inmates, focusing on first-time writers, new believers, and those in crisis.  We also correspond with many inmates for the purpose of discipleship in their walk.

LIFE HOUSE MINISTRIES

Real Life Ministries has operated a transitional living facility (often called a "halfway house") for over 20 years.  Real Life has accepted both men and women into our "Life House" program.  Residents have been admitted as parolees straight out of prison, out of county jails, and off the streets.  Most residents have struggled with a long history of addiction.  Residents have an opportunity to grow spiritually and personally as they prepare to re-enter society.  Over the years, residents of Life House have had tremendous success in maintaining sobriety and have seen their families and lives restored by the power of God.  At this point, due to limited space, entry into the Life House program is extremely selective.

REAL LIFE BOOKS

Real Life also provides Bibles and other books via mail through the ministry of "Real Life Books."  Many new believers have benefitted from receiving easier-to-read and understand versions of the Bible, such as the New Living Translation or The Message Bible.  We also frequently send other books with powerful testimonies of believers that are encouraging and edifying such as "Heavenly Man," "Outcry in the Barrio," "Chasing God," and "Blood of the Lambs," among many others.

Some of the books and Bibles we send into the prisons each week.
